From the moment I started working with Epic as a client services coordinator, I knew I had found my career destiny. Working with special needs children and medically dependent adults, as well as building relationships with my clients and families, means everything to me. The families we help and the clients we care for are what motivate me each day to do “whatever it takes.” My dedication to special needs children and medically dependent adults is a passion. Outside the office, I am equally focused on making a difference in their lives. I am a member of multiple support groups for special needs children, a participant in the Annual Special Needs Picnic, and I serve on The Board of Directors for the Children’s Special Wish Foundation.

The love I have for children has driven me towards a career in pediatric nursing. With my experience as a nurse, I have gained the understanding that I am not only caring for a patient but also the family. Providing support and quality nursing care, as well as decreasing the stress families and clients have to deal with are some of my top priorities. I believe the vital key in obtaining optimal outcomes for medically fragile children and medically dependent adults is to keep them at home with their families. Quality nursing care in a client’s  home can provide that key.

I have been practicing as a Physical Therapist for 25 years and have always worked with children. I love the way being in the home with children and their families makes you part of their world – a privilege that allows you to become a teacher and mentor. Families who have children with special needs typically are searching for ways to feel comfortable, safe and competent when caring for them. It can be very frightening and discouraging when you don’t have the tools to help your child succeed and progress. Being able to give that gift to caregivers through education and modeling is an amazing opportunity that continues to inspire me. Epic allows me to do this through the quality care that they are committed to providing and I am thankful and excited to be here!
